The short version: Belt does not collect, transmit, or sell your data. All movement data, session history, and personal preferences stay on your device. No account required. No tracking. Ever.
Belt is an iOS application developed and operated independently. For any privacy questions, reach us at khemchay@gmail.com.
Belt is built on a principle of local-first privacy. Here is a precise breakdown of what is processed:
The data Belt processes serves one purpose: making the app work for you. Specifically:
We do not use your data for advertising, model training, benchmarking, or any purpose other than operating the app on your device.
We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your data to any third party under any circumstances.
The only way your data leaves your device is if you choose to share a session summary yourself using Belt's Share Sheet feature — which is always manual and user-initiated. Belt never sends data automatically.
A future version of Belt may offer optional iCloud backup for your session history, synced only across your own Apple devices via your personal iCloud account. This will be opt-in, clearly labeled, and governed by Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy. It is not active in the current release.
If Belt offers premium features through Apple In-App Purchases, all payment processing is handled solely by Apple through the App Store. Belt never receives, stores, or processes payment information of any kind. Billing questions should be directed to Apple Support.
Belt is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly process data from anyone under 13. If you believe your child is using Belt, please contact us and we will help ensure data is handled appropriately.
You own your data and can delete it at any time:
Your data is protected by iOS's built-in sandboxing, file system encryption (when your device is locked), and Secure Enclave protections on supported hardware. Since data never leaves your device, there is no server-side attack surface. We recommend keeping your iPhone updated to the latest iOS version.
When Belt is used with Apple Watch, motion data is processed on-device on both the Watch and iPhone. Session data is synced between them via WatchConnectivity over your local device network. No data passes through external servers during this process.
If we update this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted in Belt's App Store release notes. Continued use of Belt after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
